Design Automation for MCAD Import
AnsoftLinks for MCAD facilitates the transfer of 3D geometry from Mechanical CAD (MCAD) packages into Ansoft electromagnetic field simulation products using common file formats, such as IGES, STEP, ACIS, Parasolid and ANSYS Mechanical, Pro/ENGINEER, AutoCAD, CATIA, and Siemens PLM NX.
With AnsoftLinks, 3D CAD geometry can be imported to the Ansoft's electromagnetic field simulation software programs HFSS, Q3D Extractor and Maxwell for analysis. Engineers can easily perform an analysis of the high- and low- frequency electromagnetic fields and perform parasitic extraction. Devices such as antennas, connectors, motors, generators and bus bars can be automatically converted into ready-to-simulate Ansoft models, allowing engineers to use existing design geometries in their analyses. By reducing the time required to re-create a CAD model in the analysis tool, engineers save a tremendous amount of time and are able to meet aggressive development costs and delivery schedules.
